Meet Jim Scerenscko

I have been in the electrical industry for 35 years. I started out as a helper at Weinberg Electric in NJ in 1987 after being a stagehand and lighting roadie for 7 years. I came up through the trades and have been in every aspect of the electrical industry, from apprentice to journeyman, electrical contractor, QA/QC manager and electrical inspector for three different jurisdictions. I am currently the Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Raleigh NC.

I graduated from Woodbridge Sr. High School in NJ, attended East Brunswick Voc-Tech as an electrical apprentice. I have been an Instructor for IBEW local 613 in their JATC program. I am an ICC preferred provider and an IAEI Preferred Training Partner. I am an ICC Certified Electrical Inspector in both residential and commercial inspections, and a Georgia licensed Electrical Contractor.

I worked for Weinberg Electric in NJ and Gulfview Electric in FL. I was the owner of J&M Electric in FL and ECA Inc. in Ga. before taking a position as a Senior Electrical Inspector with the City of Atlanta, eventually becoming a Senior Principle Inspector and Plan Reviewer for them as well. I then became the QA/QC manager for the electrical portion of Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta and then held that position for both Cleveland Electric and Allison Smith Electric in Atlanta before moving and taking the position as a Senior Electrical Inspector for the City of Portland. As of August 2023 I am the Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of Raleigh.
